HISTORY OF THE BUILDING
The headquarters building of the Chamber of Commerce was a late neoclassical family mansion built by the master builder Jacobo Gali Lassaletta in 1905 on an eighteenth-century building, of which the rear part is preserved. The building was restored by the architect Antonio González Cordón to adapt it to the administrative needs of the Chamber of Seville, respecting its typology. The house consists of three floors and a roof that covered the stairwell, having the part that covered the courtyard a glass montera.
In the transformation works of 1981-1982, the patio was reformed, since it had a reduced dimension and a poor light due to the projection of the stairwell. The work consisted of removing the roof of the staircase, the partitioning of the gallery, the removal of the roof covering that covered the courtyard, as well as the roof slabs. After these works, the cleared area was covered with a large roof covering, which gave the building a luminosity that it did not have before.
